The impor tant thing is the\nlesson learned from an apparent mistake. Professor Lank shares\ninsights on how he uses examples of mistakes to embolden budding \nentrepreneurs and show how failure can be turned into triumph.\nDavid La nk joined 91ºÚÁÏ꿉۪s Desautels Faculty of Management in\n1999. As Director E meritus of the Dobson Centre for Entrepreneurial\nStudies\, he teaches MBA -level courses in entrepreneurial start-ups\,\nearly-phase management and entrepreneurial leadership. In addition\,\nhe has designed and supplied th e major course content for several\nundergraduate courses\, including Tech nological\nEntrepreneurship.\nAs founder in 1968 and now Chair of Helix In vestments\, he has\nbeen personally involved in the venture capital fundin g of 147\ncompanies as well as numerous other entrepreneurial initiatives. \nThis broad experience has allowed him to bring scores of\npractitioners into the classroom to share their real-life\nexperiences\, a teaching appr oach that has been a hallmark of the\nDobson Centre.\nProfessor Lank has b een a visiting lecturer at more than 20\nuniversities on a variety of subj ects\, and for four years taught\nthe history of animal art at Concordia U niversity in Montreal while\nhe was still the senior partner in Canada’s o ldest investment\nmanagement firm. Author of more than 40 books\, his serv ice to\ncultural and conservation organizations led to his being named to \nthe Order of Canada in 1996.\nPARKING: The Club does not have its own pa rking lot.
