There is no charge but registration is obli gatory: RSVP to rghl [dot] law [at] mcgill [dot] ca.\n\nAbstract\n\nIn rec ent years\, European state health measures have been challenged before the European Court of Human Rights under the right to private and family life \, which is enshrined in article 8 of the European Human Rights Convention . This presentation will analyze how the Court’s decisions have evolved\, drawing on recent cases related to women’s access to abortion and transgen der individuals’ demands for legal gender change. It will also highlight s ome of the consequences of this interpretation of the Convention\, which m ay have unintended effects on these individuals’ human rights.\n\nThe spea ker\n\nIvana Isailovic is the Boulton Fellow at 91şÚÁĎÍř. She pre viously worked at the Equality Law Clinic at UniversitĂ© Libre de Bruxelles on human rights issues with abortion rights activists and transgender com munities.
