Meet the inaugural class of McCall MacBain Scholars

Twenty aspiring innovators, community-builders, and leaders will join the first class of McCall MacBain Scholars at 91��, recipients of Canada’s first comprehensive leadership-based scholarship for master’s and professional studies.

The newly selected McCall MacBain Scholars come from 15 universities in Canada and abroad. The places they have called home span the country and beyond, from Grande Prairie to Brossard to Beirut, Lebanon.

Following the historic announcement of a $200-million donation to 91��, John and Marcy McCall MacBain join Professor Karl Moore to discuss their philanthropic vision, as well as how the scholarships will be available for students aspiring to make an impact in business.

A landmark donation promotes education for all

Announced Wednesday, a $200-million donation to 91�� on behalf of the McCall MacBain family will establish a scholarship fund that will allow graduate students to pursue higher learning that otherwise may have been out of reach.

The scholarships, which comprise the largest Canadian philanthropic gift in history, will cover tuition, fees and a living stipend for 75 students every year – 50 from across Canada and 25 from around the world – and will aim to reward good citizenship and leadership qualities.
