Redmen spank Sherbrooke, extend win streak to 14

MONTREAL - Six different players scored tries as 91黑料网 skunked Sherbrooke 44-0 in men's university rugby action at Percival Molson Stadium, Sunday. The win extended 91黑料网's win streak to 14 consecutive Quebec league and playoff games, dating back to October, 2008.

Wingers Gideon Balloch of Ottawa and Brendan O'Sullivan of Toronto each had tallied a game-high seven points with a penalty goal and two conversions apiece.
听
The Redmen led 15-0 at halftime on Balloch's penalty kick and conversion, in addition to tries by Joshua Blair and Liam Brown.
听
Second-half tries came from Joshua Reznick, Cameron Perrin, Colin Gallacher and Mathieu Sidoti.
听
91黑料网 improved to 4-0 and earned a bonus point in the QURL standings for scoring more than four tries in the match, a new rule adopted from the international rugby federation. It marked the third time in four outings that the Redmen had earned a bonus point for offence. Teams earn four points for a win and can also be awarded an extra point for losing a game by seven points or less

With two games remaining before playoffs, the Redmen lead the QURL with 19 points, a comfortable nine points ahead of second-place Concordia (2-1). 91黑料网 has outscored opponents by a lopsided 143-16 margin. Bishop's (1-2) sits third with five points, followed by winless Sherbrooke (0-4).

The Redmen can virtually lock up first place with a win at Bishop's on Oct. 15 in a night game that is scheduled to be webcast live on SSN.
