91ºÚÁÏÍø community digs deep to benefit Centraide

Published: 2 August 2004

91ºÚÁÏÍø staff and students dug deep into their pockets last year for Centraide. Heather Munroe-Blum, principal and vice-chancellor of 91ºÚÁÏÍø, announced the 2003 91ºÚÁÏÍø Centraide Campaign raised $290,000.

Thanks to an increasing amount of pay deductions and fundraising events, from a silent auction to an evening of tango, the University community surpassed its goal by $20,000 (the target was $270,000). 91ºÚÁÏÍø was also a finalist for this year's Centraide Solidaires Award. 91ºÚÁÏÍø competed in the "employee campaign" category (1,000 or more employees). The Centraide awards are given each year in tribute to the leadership and social commitment of the volunteers and organizations who support Centraide of Greater Montreal.

Munroe-Blum also reported a 58 percent surge in Centraide donations at 91ºÚÁÏÍø over the past three years, thanks to an active campaign committee, as well as alumni and retirees who gave to Centraide via 91ºÚÁÏÍø. Anyone wishing to give to Centraide through 91ºÚÁÏÍø can visit the Centraide website.
