Education Library renovation - Summer 2007
When faculty and students return for the Fall 2007 academic year they can look forward to an attractive, newly renovated Education Library.
During the month of August, the Library will undergo major refurbishment in order to provide a more welcoming and improved physical facility for our clientele that is more conducive to study, research and group collaborative learning.
From August 1 to 26, the print collection will be unavailable while we move the entire collection onto new compact and open shelving and relocate the Curriculum Resources Centre beside the main collection.
The Education Library will be closed from August 13 to 26 during the construction period.
Education Library staff will be available throughout the month of August to provide you with access to our electronic resources, the physical collection in the rest of the 91黑料网 Library system, libraries in Montreal and expedited interlibrary loan service.
During the construction period (August 13 鈥� 26), Library service will be provided from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Thursday, and Friday from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm (closed on weekends), from the Education Computer Lab (Education Building, room 328). The Library staff is available to serve you!
The Education Library will reopen on Monday, August 27. Work will continue in the space, but access to the collection and full library service will be provided. The collection will be completely reshelved by August 31. Final refurbishments and furniture delivery will continue through the beginning of September.
Among the physical changes to look for are:
- New, inviting and more accessible entrance into the Education Library from the lobby
- Improved physical layout, and loans and information service desks relocated for greater user convenience
- A variety of new, attractive seating areas, for quiet study, relaxed reading and group collaborative projects
- Two new group study rooms
- Improved office work space for library staff
- New home for part of the collection on space-saving compact shelving
- And more!
