SEMINAR: SILK PROTEIN POLYMERS: STRUCTURE, PROPERTIES, AND BIOMEDICAL APPLICATIONS

Dr. Giuliano Freddi is a Bioecemistry graduate from University of Milan, Faculty of Sciences, Biological Sciences.  He is a senior researcher at Stazione Sperimentale per la Seta, Milan, Italy.  He has over 120 papers published in peer reviewed journals related to polymer science and textile science and technology.  His current activities include research on structure, properties, and industrial processing of protein fibres, with emphasis on bioprocessing (exploitation of enzymes for polymer and fibre processing); development of biomedical applications of protein-based biopolymers; project leader in national and international research projects; technical assistance, consultations and investigations commissioned by private companies and public bodies; scientific education intended for undergraduate students, PhD, and post-doctoral fellows.
