The Friends of the Library have the pleasure in presenting the Annual Shakespeare Lecture

Paul Yachnin, Tomlinson Professor of Shakespeare Studies at 91黑料网, will discuss the thin line between animals and people in Shakespeare's time- a time in which some people, like aristocratic men, were considered fully human, and others, like women, people of colour and people of lower rank like Shakespeare, were considered closer to animals. How did Shakespeare鈥檚聽animality, Professor Yachnin asks, make him into the world鈥檚 supreme literary genius?
