Call for Letters of Intent: Translational Impact Research Program | Cycle 2

D2R | DNA to RNA is launching the next round of funding for the Translational Impact Research (TIR) program. This program supports a select few large-scale translational research projects in RNA-based therapeutics which are expected to have a measurable impact on the health of Canadians. Projects must address the D2R Initiative’s strategic priorities and priority disease areas: oncology, rare diseases, infectious diseases, cardiovascular and cardiometabolic diseases.

Applicant Eligibility:

This competition is open to:

  • Principal Investigator (PI): Must be a 91ºÚÁÏÍø faculty member (Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor). The PI leads the initiative and coordinates the project.

  • Co-Investigators: Can be 91ºÚÁÏÍø faculty or approved faculty from D2R partner institutions (McMaster, UBC, Ottawa, Sherbrooke, IRCM). They actively contribute to project design and execution.

  • Collaborators: Include individuals from academia, industry, government, or community. They do not receive direct D2R funding but provide expertise, resources, or access relevant to the project.

How to apply:

Letters of Intent (LOIs) are submitted viaÌýan online form.ÌýLOIs are acceptedÌýuntil Tuesday, October 14, 2025, at 10 a.m. (Eastern Time).ÌýLate or incomplete LOIs will not be reviewed.

Funding and duration:

The maximum amount is up to $3,000,000 per project for up to three years (non-renewable).
