DESCRIPTION:The ECC and 91ºÚÁÏÍø Formula Electric (FSAE) are pleased to host 
 a session for students to attend and learn about Lithium-ion battery techn
 ology from Pierre-Olivier Cimon\, Principal Engineer at Rimac Technology.
 \n\nSUMMARY:\n\nLithium-ion battery technology has been an enabler for the
  on-going electrification revolution in the automotive industry.\n\nHoweve
 r\, battery systems remain challenging and often misunderstood due to thei
 r multidisciplinary nature. In order to fill that gap\, this presentation 
 will provide an overview of the current state of the art of battery techno
 logy and associated challenges.\n\nSome key design guidelines will be pres
 ented followed by a discussion on next-generation battery technologies.\n
 \nABOUT THE SPEAKER:\n\nPierre-Olivier Cimon holds a degree in electrical 
 engineering from Laval University in Canada. He began his career as the te
 chnical lead of power electronics at BRP-Rotax working both in Canada and 
 Austria. He then joined Rimac Automobili in Croatia in 2019\, famous for i
 t's world record breaking electric hypercars\, and now holds a position as
  Principal Engineer being responsible for cross-functional R&D activities 
 within a newly formed business unit. His role is to bring the state of the
  art of science and technology to Rimac Technology cutting-edge battery sy
 stems. He is currently leading the development of an innovative battery sy
 stem technology that will open new horizons for the company.\n\nFree pizza
