  the job of the researcher in the field of science and engineering? What a
 re the major challenges? Survival Skills for Scientists is an applied sess
 ion from the book Survival Skills for Scientists \, co-authored by Federic
 o Rosei and Tudor Johnston Wyatt \, respectively Professor and Professor E
 meritus of Energy Materials Telecommunications Center of INRS.  Survival S
 kills for Scientists workshop will address key questions essential to the 
 professional development of science and engineering students as well as ta
 ckle issues that are normally overlooked in a conventional university sett
 ing. Participants will have the opportunity to attend presentations by lea
 ding scientists\, engineers\, and entrepreneurs on a wide range of topics 
 and partake in focused discussion groups moderated by eminent scholars.  T
 hese scientists\, presenters\, and moderators\, work in fields as diverse 
 as nanotechnology\, space exploration \, biotechnology\, the creation of h
 igh-tech startups\, and scientific communication. Throughout the course of
  the workshop\, they will share their journeys\, their path to success and
  how they survived in their chosen fields. They will also discuss their pr
 imary sources of inspiration and future vision for the next generation of
