School of Information Studies Professors Awarded $5.6M Grant to Propel Canada to the Forefront of Cybersecurity Data Analytics Research

Professor Benjamin Fung, Canada Research Chair in Data Mining for Cybersecurity, and Professor Steven Ding, both of the School of Information Studies in the Faculty of Arts, are part of a team that has recently been awarded a $5.6 million grant, funded under the NSERC Alliance Grants-CSE. The project, the only one to receive funding from NSERC Alliance Grants-CSE, will provide a multimodal, comprehensive solution for exploratory analysis of unstructured data, with a strong focus on cybersecurity applications.

English PhD candidate, Iris Pintiuta, created Exposure, Montreal's first trans film festival. The festival aims to promote inclusive representation for trans people, as well as create programs and events that advance trans acceptance.

The Department of Psychology is mourning the passing of Professor Morton Mendelson, a longstanding faculty member who joined the department in 1977. Professor Mendelson demonstrated a deep commitment to education and student well-being, and served as 91��'s first Deputy Provost of Student Life and Learning. He will be missed by many.

Eduardo Romero Dianderas is an Assistant Professor at the Institute for the Study of International Development, 91��. He holds a PhD in Sociocultural Anthropology from Columbia University (2022) and specializes in the study of media technologies, technical infrastructures, and global environmental governance in Latin America.
