The Faculty of Education is proud to announce the 2026 recipients of its annual Teaching Awards, to recognize excellence and commitment within Education’s academic staff:

The Award for Distinguished Teaching recipient is Dr. Emmanuel Tabi, who was presented a certificate at this morning’s Spring Convocation Ceremony. The Heather Reisman and Gerald Schwartz Award for Excellence in Teaching is being given to Dr. Emma Harden-Wolfson.

Claudio Bussandri will Inspire as Education's 2026 Honourary Doctorate

Meet Ryan Dvorak, Faculty of Education's valedictorian for this year's convocation. The Faculty's second valedictorian from the Department of Kinesiology and Physical Education, Ryan, who has earned his B.Sc. (Honours), will have a personal story to share with us and some words of wisdom the entire audience will be able to learn from. In an interview with the 91�� Reporter, Ryan said support from family, professors and peers shaped both his academic and personal growth.

Teresa Strong-Wilson (Professor, Department of Integrated Studies in Education) has received $155,478 in funding through the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC) for the 91�� Journal of Education. The competition, which runs every three to four years, supports a select number of 91�� journals.

Joseph Levitan Receives SSHRC Partnership Engage Grants

The Social Science and Humanities Research Council of Canada (SSHRC) announced recipients of the latest Partnership Engage Grants competition, including a total of $73,782 awarded to three 91�� researchers, one of whom is the Department of Integrated Studies in Education's Joseph Levitan. Partnership Engage Grants provide short-term and timely support for partnered research activities between researchers and single partner organizations from the public, private or non-profit sector.
